The strength of the Gaucho people is a striking characteristic that manifests in various aspects of the culture and history of Rio Grande do Sul. This strength is shaped by a spirit of resistance, solidarity, and a deep connection to the land and traditions.
Historically, the gauchos have faced immense challenges, from the struggles for freedom during the Farroupilha Revolution to battles against natural adversities, such as floods. This resilience is fueled by a rich cultural identity that values bravery and unity.
This legacy is evident in the courage shown in the face of difficulties, in the strength of the community during times of need, and in the celebration of traditions that shape their unique identity. This strength makes Rio Grande do Sul a special place, where people rise together, ready to face any challenge.
Brazilians from all corners of the country, with their strong sense of community and togetherness, helped rebuild Rio Grande after the floods in May of this year. In November, six months after the environmental disaster, the state still needs support — a task that requires time and resources.
The Event
The exhibition " As a Model for the Whole Land” takes place from November 4th to 8th at the Ivandro Cunha Lima Cultural Space, Federal Senate, Brasília/DF.
